About Kalki 2898 AD
Directed by Nag Ashwin, Kalki 2898 AD is the first in the Kalki Cinematic Universe and is inspired by Hindu scriptures (from Mahabharata to Kalyug). The movie is set in the post-apocalyptic world (2898 AD) in a now arid desert city of Kasi, where a select few are on a mission to save a lab subject SUM-80, better known as Kalki. Kasi is ruled by Supreme Yaksin (Kamal Haasan), also known as the God of the Complex. Meanwhile, Deepika Padukone plays the role of the pregnant lab subject SUM-80 and mother of Kalki.

The movie also stars Prabhas and Amitabh Bachchan in the lead roles. Prabhas is seen in the dual roles of a bounty hunter Bhairava and Karna, while Big B plays Ashwatthama. Disha Patani is seen in the role of Roxie, Saswata Chatterjee as Commander Manas, and Malvika Nair as Uttara. Brahmanandam is seen as Bhairava’s landlord Rajan, and Keerthy Suresh as Bhairava’s AI droid Bujji (BU-JZ-1). Pasupathy and Anna Ben are seen as the rebels from Shambhala, Veeran and Kyra respectively.
Kalki 2898 AD also features Vijay Deverakonda as Arjuna, Mrunal Thakur as Divya, Dulquer Salmaan as Bhairava’s guardian, and SS Rajamouli as Bhairava’s rival. They all appear in cameos in the film, which is now out in theatres.
