The day is finally here! Kalki 2898 AD, which has been in the making for years now, has finally hit theatres on Thursday. Starring Prabhas in the lead role, the film boasts a star ensemble, including Deepika Padukone, Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Haasan, Shobana, Pasupathy and others.

Those who managed to watch the early shows of Kalki 2898 AD shared their reviews on X. While the film did not flatter the audience on a wholesome level, it has been called a visual spectacle by many. Praise for the film also came in form of world building and the visual experience the film had to offer.
However, some also had a problem that Prabhas' screen time was limited in the film. Kalki 2898 AD draws inspiration from the Hindu epic Mahabharat and sets its premise in the futuristic dystopian era. Kalki 2898 AD is produced by Vyjayanthi Films. It is to be noted that a day before the film’s release, Nag Ashwin had confirmed that Vijay Devarakonda and Dulquer Salmaan will be making cameo appearances in the film.
Apart from them, the film also stars Disha Patani, Anna Ben, and others. Kalki 2898 AD is said to have a sequel, with the first part ending on a cliff-hanger note.
