Kalki 2898 AD, the epic sci-fi film that hit the theatres recently, is now on its way to emerge as one of the biggest blockbusters of Indian cinema. Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, and Amitabh Bachchan played the lead roles in the film directed by Nag Ashwin. Dulquer Salmaan made a cameo appearance in Kalki 2898 AD and earned much love from the audience. In a recent interview, director Nag Ashwin opened up about Dulquer’s role and its possibilities in the future installments of Kalki Cinematic Universe.

In his recent interview with a leading media channel, Nag Ashwin confirmed that there are no solid plans to bring back the characters played by Dulquer Salmaan and Vijay Deverakonda in future installments, yet. However, the talented filmmaker admitted that there are high possibilities for the characters to expand further, especially Captain, played by the Sita Ramam actor. So, it is now safe to assume that the audience might witness more of Dulquer’s role in the upcoming Kalki 2898 AD sequel.

Dulquer Salmaan as Captain Kalki 2898 AD
For the uninitiated, Dulquer Salmaan made a brief appearance in Kalki 2898 AD as Captain, the unnamed foster father of the protagonist, played by Prabhas. It was Captain who saved Bhairava from a war land and brought him up. He also mentors him and trains him in almost everything, including fighting, technology, and how to survive in the selfish world. However, Captain and Bhairava’s relationship ends when they sell each other to complex, to earn more ‘Units’.
Some fan theories interpret that Dulquer Salmaan Captain is actually Parasurama, the warrior sage and sixth avatar of Lord Vishnu. Notably, Parasurama is also considered to be an immortal who never gets aged. In various Yugas, Parasurama mentored various other avatars of Vishnu, including Lord Ram and Lord Krishna. The netizens feel that Dulquer’s character Captain was placed in Kalki 2898 AD’s world to train Bhairava, who is destined to become the ultimate protector of the divine child.
