*Spoilers Ahead*

Who is Kamal Haasan’s Supreme Yaskin?

The Nag Ashwin directorial introduces Supreme Yaskin, the lead antagonist played by Kamal Haasan, as the creator and ruler of The Complex. Yaskin who comes off as a pure dictator with unmatched power, created The Complex, an alternate universe with its entrance based on the famous Indian city Kashi (Varanasi). In the movie, which is set in the year 2898 AD, it is just mentioned that Supreme Yaskin is over 200 years old. When the audience sees him for the first time, he is seen in an almost vegetative state but is still ruthless.

Supreme Yaskin's Project K

Even though Kalki 2898 AD has not revealed much about Supreme Yaskin’s Project K, it is made clear that he intends to create a life-extending serum through artificially inseminated human fetuses. For the same, Yaskin’s commander Manas (Saswata Chatterjee) has assigned a team of soldiers to take away all highly fertile females, including children, to their lab. However, none of the pregnant women succeed in carrying the artificially inseminated fetus for more than 120 days, due to unknown reasons.

Supreme Yaskin’s experiment to find the perfect fetus that completes the required time in the womb, has been named Project K. Notably, the antagonist is always seen sitting inside a secret room, that reminds us of a womb. He is also connected to a few cords that keep him alive, just like an unborn human child. Even Kamal Haasan’s look in the film somewhere reminds us of a human fetus (and of course, Lord Voldemort, the lead antagonist of the Harry Potter franchise).

Well, it is safe to assume that Supreme Yaskin, who has received a new life, thanks to the single drop of serum extracted from SUM-80's womb, will have more to do in the upcoming sequels of Kalki 2898 AD. From the very few scenes where the antagonist appears, it is evident that the human-hating Yaskin is set to begin the journey to find the unborn Kalki and his mother and create a new world eliminating the ‘defective’ race.
