Kalki 2898 AD box office collection day 8: Amitabh Bachchan, Prabhas, Deepika Padukone's film crosses ₹400 cr in its first week in India

Kalki 2898 AD box office collection day 8 - Nag Ashwin's dystopian epic - Kalki 2898 AD was released in theatres on 27 June 2024. The film stars Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, Amitabh Bachchan, and Kamal Haasan in the lead roles. The sci-fi film started its journey with ₹95.3 cr at the ticket window and has been running strong ever since. The latest update states that the film has now crossed ₹400 cr mark at Indian box office.

After maintaining its stability for the entire first week, Kalki 2898 AD witnessed a dip in its Thursday collections but just by 2%. The total collection of the film crossed ₹400 cr mark in India as the film has now raked in ₹414.25 cr, according to sacnilk.com.

After opening up at the ticket window with ₹95.3 crore on its release day, the film made ₹59.3 crore on its second day and then raked in ₹66.2 crore on the third. The film saw an upward trend on Sunday by collecting ₹88.2 crore and made a total of ₹22 on Tuesday and Wednesday. The film made ₹21.8 crore on Thursday, taking the total to ₹414.25 crore.

Earlier, in an interview with Variety, Nag Ashwin opened about the sequel of the film. He said, "We shot about 25 or 30 days, but there’s a lot of action still left. It’s almost like a whole new production that’s going to start."

Further speaking about the sequel's plot, the filmmaker added, "Every loose end or thread that we left hanging has to be wrapped up. Obviously, the most important thing will be the face-off between these three, which will be between Yaskin who can now wield the Gandiva, which is thought to be the most powerful weapon, versus Karna and Ashwatthama, who are the most fearsome warriors.”
