Director Nag Ashwin, known for taking his time with filmmaking, seems to be following the same path with the sequel.
So far, very little has been revealed about Kalki 2, and Nag Ashwin has remained tight-lipped. However, the director was recently spotted in Tirumala, where he was paying a visit to the temple. When approached by the media and asked about the film’s status, Nag Ashwin shared a small but significant update.
“The writing process is nearing completion. Since the first part was such a big hit, we are making key changes and writing the sequel originally. We are not in a hurry,” he said.
When further questioned about the film’s shooting schedule, Ashwin revealed, “We intend to take the film on floors by the end of this year or early 2026.”
Set in a futuristic dystopian world, Kalki 2898 AD combines mythology with science fiction and stars Prabhas in the lead role.
