Kalapakkaara lyrical video from King of Kotha: Dulquer Salmaan in all swag in this peppy number

From Lucky Bhaskar to Guns and Gulabs, Dulquer Salmaan's birthday (July 28) saw announcements of his new projects. Now it's time for his much-anticipated birthday gift. The makers of his upcoming film, King of Kotha, have released a lyric video for the first single from the film, Kalapakkaara.

Earlier, there was a lot of buzz among fans when the teaser of the dance number, featuring Dulquer and Ritika Singh, was released.

Kalapakkaara is an energetic dance number sung by Shreya Ghoshal and Benny Dayal and composed by Jakes Bejoy. The peppy number is part of a welcome party for Dulquer's character in the film, and the lyrics are in praise of him. Dulquer’s swag and rugged appearance in the song are a treat to watch.

Helmed by Abhilash Joshiy, King of Kotha is a period action film that is set in the fictional city of Kotha. Dulquer plays a gangster in the movie and is seen in two different looks.

Scripted by Abhilash N Chandran, the film also stars Aishwarya Lekshmi, Chemban Vinod Jose, Shammi Thilakan, and Gokul Suresh.

Dulquer’s Wayfarer Films has co-produced the film with Zee Studios on a budget of Rs 50 crore. The digital satellite rights to the movie have reportedly been sold for a record sum in the Malayalam industry, breaking the record of Drishyam 3. As per unconfirmed reports, Sony Music has reportedly bagged the audio rights for the film for Rs 5 crore.

King of Kotha is set to release in August as an Onam release.
