Kalaiyarasan and Mirnalini join hands for a project which has Sarjun at the helm

Director Sarjun KM, who shot to fame with two short films, Lakshmi and Maa, made his debut feature film with Echcharikkai (streaming on Netflix), a few years ago. He later made Airaa, an underwhelming film which had Nayanthara in dual roles. His last outing was Atharvaa-starrer Thunintha Pin, a segment from Navarasa, which premiered on Netflix a couple of months ago. 

The director's next, an untitled project has kicked off in Chennai on Tuesday with an official ceremony. Kalaiyarasan and Mirnalini Ravi play lead roles in the movie which has screenplay by Anusuya Vasudevan and cinematography by Balamurugan. Pravin and R Sivatmika will handle editing and music respectively for the film.    

According to the makers, the movie's story revolves around a young man who accidentally encounters a girl who loves to live in solitude. Their interaction leads to a slew of unexpected sequences which reveal the actual identity of the latter. Kalaiyarasan was seen in a pivotal role in Sarjun's Airaa as well. The actor was supposed to work with the filmmaker in Echcharikkai, but he couldn't because of some reasons, and expressed regret in not being a part of the director's debut feature film. 

Kalaiyarasan, who turned many heads with his performance in Madras, was last seen in Udanpirappe which started streaming on Amazon Prime Video a week ago. Dhanush's Jagame Thanthiram and Arya's Sarpatta Parambarai, which premiered on Netflix and Amazon Prime Video earlier this year respectively, had him essaying crucial roles. 

On the other hand, Mirnalini Ravi, who made a notable debut with Super Deluxe (streaming on Netflix), has Enemy, Jango and Cobra awaiting releases. Her film MGR Magan is expected to drop on Disney+ Hotstar on Deepavali, and an official announcement from the makers is awaited.
