The much-awaited trailer of Udhayanidhi Stalin's upcoming film Kalaga Thalaiavan is finally out. The action-packed trailer shows an abduction of a young woman who is filmed while being abused by six men and is later said to have committed suicide. Arav Nafeez is seen as the baddie who takes on Udhayanidhi Stalin's character. Nothing much has been revealed about Udhayanidhi Stalin's character and he is seen as someone who is observing the goings-on around him keeping his identity under wraps. Going by the trailer, the film seems to have many twists and turns.


The film is written and helmed by Magizh Thirumeni who had earlier directed the crime thrillers Thadam, Meaghamann and Thadaiyara Thaaka. The film stars Niddhi Agerwal, who made her debut in Tamil opposite Silambarasan's Easwaran as the leading lady. Kalaiyarasan will also be seen in a crucial character.While the music for the film is by Arrol Corelli, soundtrack is by Srikanth Deva. The film is bankrolled by Udhayanadhi Stalin himself under his home banner Red Giant Movies. Kalaga Thalaivan is slated to hit screens for November 18. 


Udhayanidhi, who made his debut with a romantic comedy Oru Kal Oru Kannadi (2012), and went on to do many roles akin to that, has now taken the serious route and is seen in some intense characters in films like Psycho and Nenjukku Needhi. He will also be seen as a serious character in Maamannan, which is directed by Mari Selvaraj. The film also stars Fahadh Faasil, Keerthy Suresh and Vadivelu. 


The actor had stated that after a certain point of time, especially after Manithan, he had become choosy about his scripts. He said that he wanted to do films that will reflect the society and make socially responsible films. He added that such films are now being appreciated by the audiecne as well.
