Kakuda OTT release date: Filmmaker Aditya Sarpotdar's movie, Kakuda, was officially announced in 2021. An official announcement with the movie's star cast, Sonakshi Sinha, Riteish Deshmukh, and Saqib Saleem, was made. Three years down the line, Kakuda has finally got an OTT platform for its digital premiere as well as a release date. ZEE5 recently shared the official release date of Sarpotdar's horror comedy movie on Instagram. The film will drop on July 12, 2024.
Kakuda's OTT release date announced
The streaming platform shared a new poster of Kakuda on Instagram while announcing its official OTT release date. The Aditya Sarpotdar directorial will premiere on July 12 on ZEE5 and OTTplay Premium. Written by Avinash Diwedi and Chirag Garg, the movie has been produced by Ronnie Screwvala.

For the uninitiated, Kakuda is set in the village of Ratodi, in Uttar Pradesh's Mathura district. However, Ratodi is unlike any other village because of a curse inflicted upon it for many years. As per the official synopsis, the village of Ratodi in Kaukda has, "Every house in the district has two similar looking doors, one that is normal size and one that is smaller than the other."

In an official statement, Aditya Sarpotdar spoke about his upcoming movie, Kakuda. The filmmaker said he finds it fascinating to explore the delicate balance between fear and laughter. It's because he is a fan of the horror-comedy genre. The director believes it is challenging to keep viewers scared and amused at the same time. However, Aditya is confident that the film will strike the right chord with the audience.
Interestingly, Aditya's latest film Munjya has performed exceptionally well at the box office. It is a film in the horror comedy space. Starring Mona Singh, Abhay Verma, and Sharvari, the movie had its theatrical release on June 7, 2024.
