After announcing the film in 2021 and facing multiple delays, Aditya Sarpotdar's movie, Kakuda was released on July 12, 2024. The film stars Sonakshi Sinha, Riteish Deshmukh, and Saqib Saleem in the lead roles and is currently streaming on ZEE5 and OTTplay Premium. The makers of the film continue to share new promos, posters, and BTS from the film even after almost a month of its release. A new promo from the film has been released today.
Taking to their official social media account, the streaming platform shared a video where Riteish and Saqib are seen asking the viewers to watch the film on the OTT platform. they also reveal that the film will answer all the questions such as 'Who is Kakuda?', 'What will happen at 7.15 PM on Tuesday?' and more.
Sharing the video, the makers wrote in the caption: "Saare sawaalon ke jawaab and Kakuda await you! Watch now. #Kakuda streaming only on #ZEE5"

Earlier, in an interview, Riteish Deshmukh revealed that while shooting an action sequence for the film, he was badly injured. He revealed that due to a slight miscommunication during coordination, the scene didn’t go as the team planned. "They were supposed to pull me and then push me back towards the wall. In the heat of the moment, they applied too much force while pulling, and I ended up hurting my spine and wrist. The action director and everyone on set were like, ‘acha kar rahe hain, bahut acha acting hai’ No one realized I was actually hurt until I told them. It was that bad,” he said.
The Aditya Sarpotdar directorial premiered on July 12 on ZEE5 and OTTplay Premium. Written by Avinash Diwedi and Chirag Garg, the movie has been produced by Ronnie Screwvala. As per the official synopsis, the narrative of the film revolves around the village of Ratodi where every house has two similar-looking doors, one that is normal size and one that is smaller than the other. Every Tuesday at 7.15 PM, if villagers fail to keep the small door of the house open, the men in the family will face the wrath of Kakuda.
