Kajol’s character Anjali from Kuch Kuch Hota is iconic and eternal but it is not something that the actress wanted to work on. Kajol has revealed during the recent roundtable with Netflix that she actually fought with first-time director Karan Johar, for 45 minutes straight, to be able to play Tina, a role which eventually went to Rani Mukerji. Kuch Kuch Hota Hai is iconic for Rahul and Anjali’s friendship and even though Tina enjoys a fanbase, SRK-Kajol are one of Bollywood’s most loved and iconic couples. Seeing that, Karan insisted that Kajol play Anjali and things worked out for the film, characters and of course, the cast and crew as well.

Kajol reveals she fought for Tina

Sidharth was talking about that actors fighting for the roles they wish to play often, which is when Kajol screamed, “I fought, in Kuch Kuch Hota Hai.” She wanted to play Tina’s role ‘desperately’ and thus, she fought with Karan Johar for 45 minutes. The filmmaker refused her and said that she will play Anjali. When Kajol insisted, Karan said that she has no idea what he will do with Tina. She recalled the director’s reaction and shared, “Karan was like, shut up!”

Sidharth went the extra mile for Ek Villain

Sidharth then spoke all of our minds when he said that it turned out well and everyone is pretty happy with the way the film turned out to be. He recalled having gone through a photoshoot to convince Mohit Suri to cast him in Ek Villain. This happened because Sidharth was new to the industry and did completely different roles previously. The actor says that while doing the photoshoot might not have helped, the director did appreciate the efforts.

Tillotima Shome being real in an actor’s struggle

Tillotima Shome went on to state that it was a tooth-and-nail fight to get any work. Every time she sent across an audition, the actress felt that she could do it better. Days later, she goes ahead and shoots it in a different way. Since the process got to her at one point, she changed her approach and started believing that she already got the part and is going for shoot.
