Kajal Aggarwal, who turned a year older today, is quite upbeat about her role in the much-awaited movie Indian 2. Starring superstar Kamal Haasan in the lead role, the big-budget vigilante drama is written and directed by Shankar.

While interacting with the media recently, Kajal said she hasn't played a role like this before. "It's a very exciting role that I can't tell you too much about it. Trust me, it's going to be very different. I have never done something like that. And it's not a stereotypical answer. It's genuine," said Kajal Aggarwal.

Kajal Aggarwal turned 38 on Monday. In a career spanning 20 years, she has acted in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi movies. She shared screen space with the who's who of South Indian cinema, including Vijay, Suriya, and Chiranjeevi to name a few.

In 2020, Kajal tied the knot with businessman Gautam Kitchlu, and in 2022, she became a mother to a baby boy. Despite the demands of motherhood, she swiftly resumed shooting for Indian 2 just months after delivering her child.

The fate of the movie had been uncertain for over two years due to various reasons. Production came to an abrupt halt in February 2020 when a tragic accident on set resulted in the loss of three crew members' lives and injuries to several others. Subsequently, disagreements and fallout between Shankar and Lyca Productions led to legal battles, putting Indian 2 on hold.

During this period, Kamal Haasan produced and acted in Vikram, which emerged as one of the highest-grossing Indian films in 2022. Shankar, on the other hand, began shooting Game Changer with Telugu superstar Ram Charan.

The success of Vikram paved the way for the revival of Indian 2, with the support of Red Giant Movies. And Shankar shot both Indian 2 and Game Changer simultaneously.

According to reports, Indian 2 will arrive in cinemas during the Pongal festival next year.
