Actress Tamannaah Bhatia’s steps in Rajinikanth’s Kaavaalaa made for some viral videos when the song was released last month. The makers of her debut Malayalam movie, Bandra, will be hoping that the Aakhri Sach and Lust Stories 2 actress will now lend some of that magic to the Dileep-starrer as well.
The movie, which is helmed by Ramaleela director Arun Gopy, will wrap up its shoot with a peppy dance number that is set to be canned soon. As per reports, Tamannaah has allotted five days for the song, which will be filmed in Kochi from September 10.
Tamannaah to play an actress in Bandra?
Bandra, which is among Dileep’s most expensive films in the past decade, also marks Tamannaah’s Malayalam film debut. Apart from the duo, the film also has Dino Morea, Sarathkumar, VTV Ganesh, Lena and Siddique in pivotal roles.
Tamannaah reportedly plays an actress in Bandra, which had locations across India. Contrary to the film’s title and its poster that had Dileep as a gangster, Arun had told OTTplay in a recent interview that the film doesn’t revolve around the underworld. “Both Dileep and Tamannaah aren’t playing roles related to the underworld at all. All I can say is that both of them are apt for the characters in Bandra,” he said.
The filmmaker also said that it wasn’t a deliberate attempt to make a pan-Indian film, which has become the norm these days. Bandra’s story evolves outside Kerala and naturally a lot of characters from other States are part of the plot and that’s what led to the casting of actors across industries, Arun clarified.
Dileep’s Bandra to release in October?
After Salaar’s release was postponed, there were rumours that Arun Gopy’s directorial would advance its release plans, aiming at a September 28 clash with Mammootty’s Kannur Squad. The makers, however, are yet to a nnounce the release date of the film, which could look at an October release date.
Meanwhile, Dileep’s latest movie Voice of Sathyanathan is expected to release on Manorama Max in September. The film, which is directed by Rafi, also has Joju George, Anupam Kher and Veena Nandakumar as part of its cast.
