It’s been almost two months since the last update about Challenging Star Darshan’s upcoming film Kaatera directed by Tharun Sudhir. The filmmaker had revealed the first look poster of the leading lady, debutant Radhana Ram as Prabhavati. Radhana is the daughter of veteran actress Malashree and late producer Koti Ramu. A little while ago, Tharun took to social media to announce that he’s got yet another update for Darshan fans, who have been waiting eagerly for word on the film.
“A brotherly soul from #Kaatera is all ready to meet you tomorrow at 10 am,” wrote Tharun, hinting at the possibility of a new character introduction.
Kaatera is Tharun’s third collaboration with Darshan, but only their second full-fledged film. Darshan had done a cameo in the filmmaker’s Chowkaa, after which they did Roberrt together. Kaatera was officially launched during the Varamahalakshmi festivities in August last year. Tharun has been tight-lipped about the subject he’s chosen for the film, but it is believed to be a period film that deals with issues faced by the farming community. The title reveal poster featured Darshan wielding a machete, with a group of people with what appear to be farming tools, in the background. The year 1974 is also embossed in the backdrop, referring to the period the film is set in. Kaatera, according to Tharun, is based on real incidents that happened in Hampi.
The first poster of D56 features a dog leading a flock of sheep with the tagline ಹಿಂದಿರೋವ್ರಿಗೆ ದಾರಿ ಮುಂದಿರೋವ್ನದ್ದು ಜವಾಬ್ದಾರಿ (It’s the responsibility of those in front to lead the ones in the back). The same theme poster also states that the film is based on social incidents and the unique artwork has already piqued the interests of the audience who are now keenly looking forward to the exciting collaboration.
