Kaatera: Meet Radhana Ram aka Prabhavathi, the fearless companion to Challenging Star Darshan

The makers of Kaatera, the upcoming period film starring Challenging Star Darshan, piqued the curiosity of the netizens with the first look poster of the film, which was released on the superstar's birthday on February 16th. Darshan is seen in a rare rustic and raw avatar, and aside from his towering presence and the commanding demeanour that fans have come to love over the years, he can also be spotted brandishing a billhook machete, popularly known as 'macchu' in Kannada. The entire aesthetic, which also includes a huge crowd of people rallying behind him, suggested that Kaatera has something special in store for all the fans.

But turns out Darshan isn't the only actor on-screen to look forward to as the makers use the auspicious occasion of Ugadi to unveil the first look of the film's female lead. It's no secret that Radhana Ram (formerly Anannya Ramu), who happens to be the daughter of former superstar Malashree Ramu and late film producer Ramu, makes her debut with Kaatera. However, with the audience boasting no prior idea about her acting skills or how she would fit in a film of this kind, they were quite curious to know more about her character. The makers, too, made things more intriguing by calling her the 'epitome of courage, beauty & acuity', before releasing her character look in the film.

Well, the mystery is finally solved and we now know that Radhana Ram plays the role of Prabhavathi in Kaatera. Dressed in the classic 1970s 'langa davani' attire and carrying a couple of notebooks in her hand, Padmavathi looks every bit the village belle that one expects, until our gaze reaches her other hand which proudly carries a sickle! The confidence and the poise in her demeanour, too, suggest that she is a fitting companion to Darshan in the film. 

What is the netizens' reaction to Radhana Ram's look in Kaatera? Well, a majority of them have welcomed her wholeheartedly but a few haven't shied away from pointing out that she looks considerably younger compared to the Challenging Star.
