Sasikumar has had two releases in November, Naan Mirugamai Maara and Kaari. The latter, a run-of-the-mill rural drama, is gearing up for its digital premiere. Hemanth Kumar has helmed the project which was bankrolled by S Lakshman Kumar under Prince Pictures.
Imman has composed music for the film which has cinematography by Ganesh Chandrra and editing by T Shivanandeeshwaran. The movie opened to poor response from critics and the audience owing to its lacklustre screenplay and lack of novelty. Its story revolves around an ambitious villager who sets out to destroy a corporate fraud who hatches a plan to disturb the lives of people in the small town.
Debutant Parvathi Arun plays the female lead in the movie which stars Ammu Abhirami, Adukalam Naren, JD Chakravarthi, Balaji Shaktivel and Redin Kingsley in key roles. The fight scenes composed by Anbariv, Dinesh Subbarayan and Stunt Silva are some of the highlights of the film.
Kaari will drop on Zee5 on December 23. The digital platform has now officially announced the news about its OTT premiere. The earnest performances from actors garnered praise from viewers, despite the uninspiring reviews it garnered.
2022 has been a forgettable year for Sasikumar who had three releases. Kombu Vatcha Singamda, another rural drama, was his first outing. He has Pagaivanuku Arulvai, Naa Naa and Nandhan coming up next year, though makers are yet to announce release plans.
The actor-filmmaker had announced a while ago that he will be directing a movie soon. Post Subramaniapuram, his sensational directorial debut in 2008, he has made only one movie, and fans are awaiting an update on his next project which will have him wielding the megaphone.
