Kaalkoot 2023: Release date, trailer, plot, cast, budget, behind the scenes, OTT partner and more

Kaalkoot is an upcoming web series that stars Vijay Varma and Shweta Tripathi Sharma in the lead roles, along with Seema Biswas, Yashpal Sharma, Gopal Datt and Suzanna Mukherjee in supporting roles. The series is directed by Sumit Saxena, who has previously written Pyaar Ka Punchnama and Doctor G. The series is produced by Ajit Andhare, Amritpal Singh Bindra and Anand Tiwari under the banner of Tipping Point and Viacom 18 Studios.

Plot:

Kaalkoot follows the life of a driven police officer, played by Vijay Varma, who is balancing his professional and personal obligations while trying to solve an acid assault case. The series promises to be a suspenseful crime drama with a touch of satire.

Cast:

After his brilliant performances in Darlings, She, Dahaad and Lust Stories 2, Vijay Varma is the new talent in Bollywood who is making headlines every now and then. The actor will be seen in a cop's role for the first time in Kaalkoot. He has previously worked with Shweta Tripathi Sharma in Mirzapur. Shweta Tripathi Sharma is known for her versatile roles in films like Masaan, Haraamkhor and Gone Kesh. She will be playing the wife of Vijay Varma's character in Kaalkoot.

The supporting cast of Kaalkoot includes some seasoned actors like Seema Biswas, who has won the National Film Award for her role in Bandit Queen; Yashpal Sharma, who has appeared in films like Lagaan, Gangaajal and Gangs of Wasseypur; Gopal Datt, who is a popular comedian and actor known for his work in TVF Pitchers, Panchayat and Brij Mohan Amar Rahe; and Suzanna Mukherjee, who has acted in films like Tutiya Dil, Trip to Bhangarh and Mona Darling.

Budget:

The budget of Kaalkoot is not officially revealed by the makers or the OTT platform. However, based on the production value and the star cast of the series, it can be estimated that the series has a moderate to high budget. The series has been shot in various locations across India, including Mumbai, Delhi and Kolkata.

Behind the Scenes:

The shooting of Kaalkoot began in February 2023 and wrapped up in June 2023. Vijay Varma also shared his look as a cop on his Instagram account, which received a lot of praise from his fans and colleagues.

OTT Partner:

Kaalkoot will be streaming exclusively on JioCinema. The series will be available on JioCinema from July 27, 2023 for free.
