Kaala: This is why Sreelekha Mitra is in awe with Bejoy Nambiar

Sreelekha Mitra became a national crush in the 90s due to her soft drink commercial with Aamir Khan. She wore the traditional Bengali white saree with red borders and impressed the audience with her Bangaliana. However, Sreelekha did not set foot in Bollywood after that. However, this time she stunned everyone by releasing glimpses of her Hindi series, Kaala, by Bejoy Nambiar.

In an interview, Sreelekha said, “I got married just after working with Amir Khan. I got lots of offers from Bollywood. But I worked out of love. Hence, besides caring for my family, I worked on those projects which I liked. But I have no regrets. I was in awe after seeing Shaitan by Bejoy Nambiar. That content, which was ahead of its time, made me think. That was a cult film of Bollywood in my opinion. I gave a green signal to Kaala because of him. It is not a big role. But that was one of the important characters of the series. I got the role after giving an audition.”

Sreelekha will play the mother of the protagonist Avinash Tiwari. She will be seen romancing with Ajinkya Deo. Sreelekha jokingly said, “I am of the age of being his girlfriend.” She also added, “I had a brilliant experience of working in Bollywood for the first time. My group has been formed there.”

Regarding her future work in Mumbai, Sreelekha said, “I wanted to start. My daughter will go outside Kolkata after she completes her 12th grade.” Hence, Sreelekha wants to start her innings in Bollywood. But she does not want to settle there permanently as she has many pets in her house. But she wants to work again if the screenplay and her remuneration are good. She added, “Due respect will also be added to that list.”
