K-drama star Song Joong-ki reveals he is married to British actress Katy Louise Saunders, and that they are pregnant

It was in December 2022 that Korean actor Song Joong-ki – popular for starring in K-dramas such as Descendants of the Sun, Vincenzo and the most recent show, Reborn Rich – confirmed that he was dating someone. But all that was revealed at the time is that she was a British woman who is not a celebrity. Earlier today, the actor took to his official fan cafe to share that he has married British actress Katy Louise Sanders and that she is pregnant. 

Joong-ki announced this through a heartwarming letter, in which he called Katy someone "who has been by my side supporting me" read, "Hello, this is Joong Ki. Today, I am greeting you because I want to share a promise that is more happy and valuable to me than anything. I have promised Katy Louise Saunders, who has been by my side supporting me, to spend the rest of our lives together. She has a kind heart and has led a passionate life. She is a sensible and amazing person, and I revere her. Thanks to her, I am becoming a better person."

Revealing that they are expecting their first child together, the actor added, “Naturally, we both wanted to make a happy family. We have been trying hard to keep each other's promise and have welcomed a precious life between the two of us. So today, we have registered our marriage as a couple, based on our deepest love and trust.”

Thanking his fans, Joong-ki further stated, "We will continue walking on our path, looking in the same direction. Thank you to all the fans from the bottom of my heart who have been sending their unwavering support. Especially following the wishes and support of Ki Aile (Joong-ki’s fan club), who have been my greatest strength in my acting career. I will work to fly higher as an actor and individual with the wings of greater responsibility and passion. I hope you all stay healthy and happy until we can see each other in person."

So far, Joong-ki and Katy have registered their marriage and his agency has said that their wedding ceremony will be held separately, but nothing has been decided yet. The couple is expected to split their time between South Korea and the UK.
