Jyotika, who made her Instagram debut recently, shared a video of her training with her followers/fans. The actor turned 44 and revealed that she was celebrating by giving herself strength and health. She was last seen in her hubby Suriya's production of Udanpirappe, which was her 50th project.

She was seen working out with her trainer and wrote in the caption of the video: “Functional training with the extremely gifted Mahesh Ghanekar. I will not let age change me.”

Jyotika continued by saying she will transform how she ages.

Soon after her post went up, Manjima Mohan responded to her in the comment section with a “Woah”, followed by a fire emoji. A fan added, “Oh my god. This is so inspiring.” One more fan commented, “True inspiration to many like me.”

On the professional front, Jyotika will return to Malayalam cinema after 13 years, with Kaathal. Her last Malayalam release was Seetha Kalyanam (2009), directed by TK Rajeev Kumar.

Kaathal, headlined by Mammootty, was officially announced, on the occasion of Jyotika’s 44th birthday. This one is directed by The Great Indian Kitchen fame, Jeo Baby.

The movie's first-look poster gave the impression that the story would take place in the 1990s.

Also featuring Lalu Alex, Muthumani, Chinnu Chandni, Sudhi Kozhikode, Anagha Akku, Josi Sijo, and Adarsh Sukumaran, Kaathal has a screenplay by Adarsh Sukumaran and Paulson Skaria.

The technical department includes cinematographer Salu K Thomas, editor Francies Louis and music composer Mathews Pulickan. All three had previously worked on Jeo's The Great Indian Kitchen.

Kaathal is bankrolled by Mammootty Kampany and presented by Dulquer Salmaan's Wayfarer Films.

Suriya tweeted the movie's poster, along with good luck wishes for his wife Jyotika, Mammootty, and the entire team of Kaathal.

Jyotika and Suriya made the bold decision to pursue direct digital premieres as one of the first Tamil film production businesses in 2020, via 2D Entertainment.

Speaking about it, Jyotika told the Hindu, “There was a lot of money moving, and things didn't look good. We had no idea when the pandemic would end, so at that time, everything was about getting things settled and taking care of business. The release of a movie affects many producers' houses, including ours and smaller ones.”

However, Jyotika thinks that streaming platforms are a huge plus for moviemakers.

She was quoted saying, “We can proudly release smaller films with the substance we wish and feel 'equal' to the release of a big-budget project. For instance, Raatchasi was able to connect with a pan-Indian crowd. We now have a venue where family audiences may watch these so-called 'women-centric' movies. I felt both relieved and happy!”
