Jyothika reveals 'the most romantic thing' about Suriya

Actor Jyothika has opened up about the personal equations that she shares with her husband Suriya. She highlighted how he makes sure his successful and busy career as one of the top stars of the Tamil film industry doesn't interfere with their relationship. "He (Suriya) will turn everything around to be with family," said Jyothika. 

Jyothika revealed that Suirya takes a very hands-on approach when it comes to fulfilling his fatherly duties and he never misses any important celebration or anniversary at home. "We both mark our dates and plan holidays in advance so that we don't give these dates to shooting," she told Behindwoods. "He's a special father.

Jyothika also revealed Suriya's thoughtful gestures to keep the romance alive in the marriage, including never failing to show his gratitude and appreciation for her. "For me, romance is not buying you things or taking you out. I really fell in love with him because he's very different. He doesn't have to try for anything. He's pure-hearted, really a nice person. His respect and appreciation for the things I do at home, I think that is romance. When I cook at home, even though it might not be great, he will appreciate it. He also helps me with the cooking. And he makes coffee for me in the morning. And he really treats me as his equal. It's not for the namesake. I think that is the most romantic thing about him," she explained.

Jyothika and Suriya first met on the sets of Poovellam Kettuppar in 1999. Following this, they dated for several years before entering the wedlock in 2006. The couple has two children, a daughter, Diya, and a son, Dev. 

On the career front, Jyothika was last seen in Kaathal - The Core. In the Malayalam film, she played the wife of a closeted gay man, a role beautifully essayed by superstar Mammootty.
