After signing their group contract with YG Entertainment rather than individual contracts, BLACKPINK members Lisa, Rose, Jennie, and Jisoo have been busy with various endeavours, including attending fashion shows, launching their labels, appearing on variety shows, and maintaining active social media presence, particularly on their Instagram handles. However, one thing absent is new music, the very reason they became idols.

Now, new rumours suggest that the girls could be gracing the Met Gala on May 6, 2024. This event, renowned for its blend of celebrity and haute couture, will take place at the iconic Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City. While many fans eagerly anticipate seeing the four together, others have been vocal about their longing for new music.
Their fandom, called 'Blinks,' has been divided over the discussions, with many questioning if the four women have transitioned to being merely influencers akin to the Kardashians. Throughout their seven-year career, the group has released only 41 songs, a relatively small number compared to other groups. Their two full-length studio albums, 'The Album' and 'BORN PINK,' each contain just eight songs, which is on the lower end for full albums.
However, those anticipating the Met Gala, see it as a potential reunion opportunity, as the members have been separated due to their endeavours.
The individual members have previously left their mark on this prestigious event. Rosé partnered with Saint Laurent, and Lisa shined in Celine, while Jennie made her debut in vintage 1990 Chanel in 2023 - each embodying the event's theme with their distinct styles and captivating presence.
Lisa recently announced the launch of her management agency called 'LLOUD.' The Thai-born rapper has added CEO to the already-long list of titles to her name.
Jennie, on the other hand, announced her label 'Odd Atelier,' also known as 'OA,' in December.
Meanwhile, Jisoo has chosen to pursue solo activities under her brother's agency, 'Blisoo.' Regarding Rose, there has been no news, but talks are ongoing about her releasing music soon.
