In the third week of July 2023, cinegoers are gearing up for the releases of the two much-awaited films, Oppenheimer and Barbie, on the big screen. Thus, there are only a few titles that are making their way to the leading OTT platforms. Among them is Nitesh Tiwari's much-anticipated film, Bawaal, starring Varun Dhawan and Janhvi Kapoor in the lead roles. The film will premiere on Prime Video. Trial Period, featuring Genelia Deshmukh and Manav Kaul in the lead roles, is also releasing on JioCinema this week.

Bawaal - July 21 (Prime Video)

The protagonist of Bawaal is High School History Teacher Ajay Dixit (also known as Ajju Bhaiya), who has created a false persona that has made him something of a local celebrity. Despite having a tense marriage, he and his new wife, Nisha, must travel through Europe during World War II together due to circumstances. His marriage is put to the test, and he is ultimately forced to face the greatest battle of all—the one raging within himself.

Estate - July 16 (ZEE5)

After the death of the estate's owner, Durga Venugopal (Ramya Nambessan), a prominent journalist, examines the famed Covelone Estates. Paranormal investigator Michael Devraj (Ashok Selvan) lends a hand to Durga and her group. Two people, Sub Inspector Sasi (Kalaiyarasan) and Dr. Reba Mathews (Sunainaa), enter the reportedly haunted Estate on the same night to rescue a captive coworker. Durga and Sasi conclude that there is more to the Estate's mysteries than has previously been revealed.

Special Ops: Lioness - July 23 (JioCinema)

The film is based on a real US military project and follows CIA agent Joe (Zoe Saldana) as she tries to maintain a healthy work-life balance while serving on the front line in the war on terror. An aggressive Marine Raider named Cruz (Laysla De Oliveira) is recruited by Kaitlyn Meade (Nicole Kidman) and Donald Westfield (Michael Kelly) to work secretly alongside Joe among the key brokers of State terrorism in an effort to prevent another 9/11.

Sweet Magnolias Season 3 - July 20 (Netflix)

After the fight at Sullivan's, Maddie tries to figure out how she can best support Cal while also clearing her own mental clutter. Helen must make some tough choices regarding the guys in her life. Meanwhile, Dana Sue tries to find a way to donate some of Miss Frances' money to a good cause without making a fuss in her own family. Shock waves travel through Serenity when the name of the tyre slasher is revealed; the recall has unintended effects; and every generation has its share of love surprises. The season follows the women as they use their typical kindness, humour, and loyalty to each other and those they love to overcome these challenges and all the consequences they bring.

They Cloned Tyrone - July 21 (Netflix)

This pulpy mystery caper follows an unusual trio (John Boyega, Teyonah Parris, and Jamie Foxx) as they investigate a series of weird happenings that lead them to a possible government plot.

Trial Period - July 21 (JioCinema)

Genelia Deshmukh stars as Ana, a single mother whose life is turned upside down when her curious son seeks a father for a 30-day trial period. Innocent coercion results in the arrival of Manav Kaul's disciplined Prajapati Dwivedi from Ujjain, affectionately known as PD, who is diametrically opposed to the mother's and son's expectations. What unfolds is a sweet story of love and friendship that blooms despite the obstacles of an unusual family dynamic and personality conflicts.

Unknown: Cave of Bones - July 17 (Netflix)

Paleoanthropologist Lee Berger discovered the oldest graveyard on Earth at South Africa's Cradle of Humankind; however, it does not include human remains. If Lee and his team are successful in demonstrating that this ancient, low-IQ ape-like creature engaged in elaborate burial rituals, it will have far-reaching implications for our understanding of human evolution and the genesis of religion.
