Woah! The blockbuster, Jug Jugg Jeeyo, turned a year older on Saturday. Directed by Raj Mehta and produced by Dharma Productions and Viacom18 Studios, this comedy drama film minted over Rs 100 crores at the box office despite the prevalence of the COVID-19 pandemic. This movie featured Varun Dhawan and Kiara Advani in titular roles.

Knowing this occasion, it was evident that fans found it difficult to contain their excitement levels, many of whom desired to have a sequel of the film.

And now, to fulfill the wish of his diehard fans, it seems that filmmaker Karan Johar and his production firm Dharma Productions have decided to come up with a sequel of Jug Jugg Jeeyo soon.

Taking to Instagram Stories yesterday, Karan attached a video of Dharma Productions celebrating the creation of Jug Jugg Jeeyo. In it, Karan said, “A film I know there is a sequel waiting to happen.” Reacting to this, actor Anil Kapoor (who played a supporting role in this film) asked Johar, “When is the big announcement?"

Responding to Anil Kapoor’s Instagram message, Karan Johar said, “Soon AK!!! Sooner than you think.”

This conversation between two celebrated Bollywood celebrities is going viral on the internet.

About Jug Jugg Jeeyo

The comedy-drama family-oriented film showed actors Kiara Advani and Varun Dhawan playing the lead roles, whereas actors Anil Kapoor and Neetu Singh Kapoor essaying supporting roles. The plotline of the movie simply narrates how a wedding in the family serves as a platform for love, and happiness and unmasking miscommunication, illicit affairs, and doubts that break marriages.

After its successful theatrical release, the makers of the film digitally premiered the film on Amazon Prime Video on July 22, 2022.

On the work front, Karan Johar is also busy promoting his upcoming directorial, Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani.
