In 2023, it was reported that Subhash Kapoor, who has directed Jolly LLB films, will be directing the third installment, starring Akshay Kumar and Arshad Warsi. Moreover, the production of the film is set to commence in 2024, and its premiere is scheduled for 2025. As per the latest reports, the filmmaker will join the actors on set for Jolly LLB 3 in the summer of 2024.
Excitement and title considerations for Jolly LLB 3
Pinkvilla reports that the entire team is excited to start filming this ambitious installment in the Jolly LLB franchise, which involves a battle between two characters named Jolly. Jolly LLB 3 and Jolly vs. Jolly are two titles that the team is still considering; they will make a decision on one of these titles closer to the announcement. A source close to the initiative indicated that the film is likely to begin production around May 2024 and would have a marathon schedule. In collaboration with Cape of Good Films, Disney will produce the film.
The entertainment portal further reported that this third installment in the franchise follows in the footsteps of its predecessors by setting the Indian Judiciary in a comedic farce. This time, Arshad Warsi and Akshay Kumar portray two Jollys who are fighting it out. The insider went on to say that Subhash will be directing the film, which will have real locales shot alongside sets, and that it will take audiences on an emotional roller coaster in 2025 thanks to its clever use of comedic timing and the bond between its protagonists.
Preparation initiatives and reconnaissance
Reconnaissance and casting are two aspects of film preparation that Subhash has already begun. He is currently close to securing the locations for filming in Jaipur, where he intends to shoot a portion of the film. Like in the previous two films, Saurabh Shukla will be joining the cast in a significant capacity, in addition to the two leads. The source added that, actually, he has judged the cases of both Jollys in the past, so he will be the constant face of the franchise through all three parts.
Akshay Kumar plays the role of lawyer Jagishwar Mishra (Jolly), while Arshad reprises his role as Jagdish Tyagi (Jolly). The film will tell another pertinent case with comedic elements, although plot details are currently under wraps. Shooting for Welcome to the Jungle will conclude for Akshay before he moves on to Jolly LLB 3. Moreover, the actor is also in the talks for another major project that is set to begin production in either March or July.
