With every film, Malayalam actor Joju George has been going from strength to strength. The actor, who has been widely praised for his roles in recent films such as Nayattu, Chola and One, is now excited about the release of his upcoming Tamil movie Jagame Thandhiram.
The Dhanush-starrer, which is directed by Karthik Subbaraj, will have Joju playing a gangster named Shivadoss. Talking about the movie that will also mark his Kollywood debut, the actor said, “I am a huge fan of Karthik Subbaraj. I tried to meet him after watching Pizza but never got a chance. I got the opportunity to meet him through Dimal Dennis and Vivek Harshan, the editor of Jagame Thandhiram.”
For the role of Shivadoss, Joju revealed that he was asked by the team to audition. “Karthik wanted me to audition for it as this was a pivotal character. He explained a scene to me and asked me to perform that with Tamil dialogues. He smiled after I did it,” said the actor.
The film also has Game of Thrones actor James Cosmo as one of the antagonists. On working with him, the Malayalam actor said, “My rival in the plot is James Cosmo sir, who is a big Hollywood actor. Personally, he is the first Hollywood actor I have met and it was a great chance for me to act alongside him in the film.”
Jagame Thandhiram, which is set to release on June 18 directly on Netflix, also has Aishwarya Lekshmi as the female lead.
