In 2023, Chad Stahelski and Keanu Reeves brought back the enigmatic and highly skilled assassin John Wick in the fourth instalment of the franchise. John Wick 4 saw the stakes being raised even further as Wick, seeking vengeance, takes his fight against the mighty High Table global and wreaks havoc in his pursuits.
His globe-trotting killing expedition begins in Morocco and traverses several significant checkpoints including Japan, New York and Paris, with newer and deadlier challenges beckoning to him at every turn. Reeves plays the part of the wounded-but-lethal with the same melancholic intensity as ever with Ian McShane, Laurence Fishburne and Lance Reddick reprising their respective roles.
John Wick 4 also saw a new battalion of actors coming in with Bill Skarsgård roped in to play one of the chief antagonists 'Marquis' Vincent Bisset de Gramont, Donnie Yen as Caine, the blind High Table assassin, Scott Adkins as Killa Harkan, Shamier Anderson as Mr. Nobody and Hiroyuki Sanada as Shimazu Koji. Japanese-British singer was cast to play the role of Koji's daughter Shimazu Akira with Clancy Brown coming in to essay the role of High Table operative the Harbinger.
And following a super successful theatrical run, John Wick 4 is all set to debut on OTT. The Chad Stahelski directorial will start streaming on Lionsgate Play on June 23, 2023.

The fate of John Wick, the character, with respect to a potential sequel, has been a subject of discussion for Hollywood trackers and film aficionados. With both Stahelski and Reeves showing reluctance to stretch the story any further, one reckoned that the franchise had met its end until Joe Drake, Lionsgate president, hinted at the possibility of a fifth instalment. As of June 2023, there is no clarity on this development.
