That John Abraham is an ardent lover of animals is something that we all know. Time and again, the actor has showed off his compassion towards the animals. Even though John Abraham may come across as a tough guy in most of his films, the fact remains that, he has got an extremely soft heart, esp when it is about animals and birds and their safety. His emotional side towards the animals was evident when he broke down in front of Amitabh Bachchan during ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati’.

Today, John Abraham took to social media and made an appeal to everyone to write to our Honourable Prime Minister Narendra Modi ji and the Honourable Minister for Animal Husbandry Shri Rupala ji requesting them to bring in the PCA Amendment Bill in the monsoon session of the Parliament.

In the video that he had shared on social media, John Abraham said, “A bird cannot go to court, a horse doesn’t vote, a dog cannot share its plight with the journalists. Animals don’t have a voice, but you do. And, it's time for you to speak up today. Hi! I am John Abraham and today, I would like to appeal to all the members of Parliament that Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Amendment Bill should be brought in the monsoon session of the Parliament. The punishment for killing a horse, throwing acid on a puppy, or hitting a bird with a stone is just Rs. 50 as penalty?”

He added, “Now, it’s too much. India needs to protect its animal citizens too. Violence towards animals is closely linked to violence towards society, public safety and health. I request each person watching this video to write to our Honourable Prime Minister Narendra Modi ji and the Honourable Minister for Animal Husbandry Shri Rupala ji and join me and organisations like HSI India and PFA India in requesting them to bring in the PCA Amendment Bill in the monsoon session of the Parliament and not later. Enough is enough. Animals are being destroyed. Hoping and wishing is not enough. The time to act is NOW. Jai Hind”.
