Jiivi 2 dubbing begins with a ritual ceremony

The makers of the second instalment to the 2019 crime drama, Jiivi, has wrapped up the portions of the film shoot and have begun dubbing for the film. The film's director VJ Gopinath shared the news on his micro-blogging page,"#Jiivi2 Dubbing commences with a ritual ceremony today @Vjgopinath1 @act_vetri @sureshkamatchi @pravethedop @SundaramurthyKS @Cinemainmygenes @Ashwini_chandr #karunakaran @Rohinimolleti @Vetrikumaran @NaganathaSethu3 @johnmediamanagr(sic)"

Jiivi starred Vetri in the lead role along with Karunakaran. While Praveen Kumar was in-charge of the cinematography, Praveen KL handled the editing. Music was by KS Sundaramurthy. The makers have roped in the same technical crew and cast for the sequel. And what's interesting is that the sequel takes off right from where the first part ended. 

While Babu Tamizh had penned the screenplay of the first part, Gopinath himself has written the screenplay for the sequel. The film is bankrolled by Suresh Kamatchi.

Interestingly, VJ Gopinath was the one who helmed the original as well. We hear that the shoot for the sequel was completed in mere 27 days. The film's producer had then shared on his social media page, "And, its a wrap! fast! The first-look poster from the film had garnered a lot of attention from the public. It shows Vetri seated on chair that looks like a throne, with wings and horns. SJ Suryah, who had released the poster, had written on his social media page, "Hi EveryOne❤ Happy to Reveal the First Look Poster of #Jiivi2. Good Luck Team @Vjgopinath1 @act_vetri @sureshkamatchi @pravethedop @SundaramurthyKS @Cinemainmygenes @Ashwini_chandr #karunakaran @Rohinimolleti @Vetrikumaran7 @johnmediamanagr (sic)." Jiivi was known for its unique idea, engaging screenplay and slick treatment. The film went on to receive rave reviews from the audience and critics alike.
