A year after her previous outing, Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani, Alia Bhatt is gearing up for her next, which is just a month away from its release. Yes, we are talking about Jigra, and the promotional leg for the film has finally begun. The actor dropped the first official poster from the film today, featuring the first look at the male lead, Vedang Raina. Both actors portray siblings in the film, which takes place against the backdrop of the criminal world.

Jigra first poster revealed

The poster depicts Vedang with bruises and a contemplative expression, while Alia conceals her face and totes a bulky backpack with a hammer in one hand and ammunition in another. While sharing the poster, the actor captioned it as "Tu mere protection mein hai (You're under my protection)."

Teaser certification and sneak peek

Before its October release, the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) certified the teaser for the film. A total of two minutes and 52 seconds make up the teaser. They gave it the 'UA' seal of approval.

The film's creators also shared an intense sneak peek on social media on Wednesday. Two little children, a boy and a girl, hold hands in the animation. They are probably the film's siblings, played by Alia Bhatt and Vedang Raina, respectively.

Alia makes a bold promise in a voiceover, saying in Hindi, "I will never let you become anything [bad], ever." The image transforms into the film's title with the words "Stay Tuned!" shown beneath it.

Alia and Vedang had earlier promised fans excellent promotions during an Instagram live dedicated to Raksha Bandhan. The duo even crooned Phoolon Ka Taaron Ka.

Jigra release date

Vasan Bala is the film's director, and Dharma Productions, under Karan Johar, and Eternal Sunshine Productions, under Alia Bhatt, worked together to produce it. On October 11, 2024, during the festival of Dussehra, it is expected to be released in theatres.
