Jigra box office collection day 1 early report: After Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani, Alia Bhatt is back in theatres with her latest film, Jigra. The film, also starring The Archies actor Vedang Raina released in theatres today, October 11. At the box office, the action-thriller is facing competition from Rajkummar Rao and Triptii Dimri starrer romantic-comedy, Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video, and Rajinikanth starrer Vettaiyan. Let's take a look at the early reports of Jigra's box office collection. 

Jigra Box Office Report

Directed by Vasan Bala, Jigra is one of the most anticipated films of the year and has been co-produced by Alia Bhatt and Karan Johar's Dharma Productions. However, the early figures of the film suggest that the film took a slow start at the box office. According to the reports by Sacnilk.com, the film collected around Rs 2.83 Cr India net on its first day for all languages.

Jigra is expected to grow in the night shows and the collection is expected to go a bit higher but given the advance bookings of the film and the competition with two other films, it seems that the film will just collect a decent amount and nothing that can be termed as 'record-breaking.'

Jigra vs Vettaiyaan vs Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video

For the uninitiated, Vettaiyaan, starring a stellar cast including Rajinikanth, Amitabh Bachchan, Fahadh Faasil, Rana Daggubati, and Manju Warrier, hit the theatres on 10th October, a day ahead of Jigra. The film might dominate the box office given the star power. Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video, on the other hand, is also performing along the same lines as Jigra. 

Jigra needs strong word of mouth to come out as a winner at the box office. 

More About Jigra

The narrative of Jigra revolves around Satya (played by Alia Bhatt) and her brother, Ankur (played by Vedang Raina). When Ankur is imprisoned and sentenced to death in a foreign jail, Satya goes to extreme lengths to save him. The film is directed by Vasan Bala and is co-produced by Karan Johar along with Alia under the banner of her production house Eternal Sunshine Productions. The film is written by Debashish Irengbam and Vasan Bala.
