Jigarthanda Double X: Dulquer Salmaan to release the Karthik Subbaraj film in Kerala

Karthik Subbaraj's much-awaited film Jigarthanda Double X is all set to hit screens for Diwali. The film stars SJ Suryah and Raghava Lawrence in the lead and its teaser has already piqued the curiosity of the fans.

Dulquer Salmaan to release the film in Kerala
The latest we hear is that Dulquer Salmaan's production house Wayfarer Films is all set to distribute the film in Kerala. Taking to his social media handle, Dulquer Salmaan wrote, "Happy to announce that #JigarthandaDoubleX will have a grand release in Kerala by @DQsWayfarerFilm A @karthiksubbaraj film, in theatres this Diwali (sic)!

In the meantime, the film will be released in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana by Suresh Productions and Asian Cinemas. And in Tamil Nadu, the film will be released through Red Giant Movies. The satellite rights of Jigarthanda Double X  have been acquired by Sun TV.

Jigarthanda Double X billed as Pandya Western story
The makers have been calling the film, a Pandyaa Western story. The plot of Jigarthanda Double X revolves around a filmmaker and a gangster-turned-actor, played by SJ Suryah and Raghava Lawrence respectively. It is to be noted that the original film Jigarthanda, too, had a similar plot where Siddharth's character goes to Madurai and gets inspired to make a film on gangster Assault Sethu (Bobby Simha). However, the makers have said that Jigarthanda Double X is a stand-alone sequel.

Cast and crew
The star cast includes Nimisha Sajayan,Shine Tom Chacko, Sathyan, Aravind Akash,Ilavarasu and Bava Chelladurai. Music for the film is by Santhosh Narayanan, cinematography by Tirru and editing by Shafique Mohamed Ali. Jigarthanda Double X is bankrolled by Stone Bench Films, Five Star Creations and Invenio Origin. The post-theatrical rights have been bagged by Netflix. The dubbed versions of the film will be released in Telugu and Hindi as well.
