Karthik Subbaraj's Jigarthanda Double X is all set to drop in theatres on November 10. The film, starring SJ Suryah and Raghava Lawrence, is considered a spiritual successor to the 2014 film, which had Bobby Simha, Siddharth and Lakshmi Menon in the lead. An impressive trailer
The plot of Jigarthanda Double X is set in 1975 and it revolves around a film, which is helmed by Ray Dasan (SJ Suryah) and has Pandiyan (Raghava Lawrence) in the lead. And what's interesting is that the film, which is billed as Pandya Western Story is all set to be the first Tamil film to have a hero with dark complexion to grace the movie screen. How Raghava Lawrence tackles a bunch of his nemesis who try to disrupt the shoot and take him down, forms the plot.

Behind the scenes
The team had recently dropped a video which comprises some behind the scenes in which Karthik Subbaraj and team are seen on a location hunt. They are seen scouring for a perfect spot in the middle of the forest and doing a trail run of a chase sun. They also erect a huge temporary set in the middle of the forest.
Jigarthanda and Jigarthanda Double X are not the same
Karthik Subbaraj had revealed during the film's promotions that both films have a similar plot involving a filmmaker and a gangster-turned-actor, the similarity ends there. This is Karthik Subbaraj's first theatrical release in four years and hence, fans are excited.
The cast and crew
Nimisha Sajayan, who last appeared in Siddharth's Chithha will play the leading lady, while Shine Tom Chacko, Sathyan, Aravind Akash, Ilavarasu and Bava Chelladurai will be seen in supporting characters.
Santhosh Narayanan has scored the music, cinematography by Thirunavukkarasu and editing is by Shafique Mohamed Ali. Jigarthanda Double X is bankrolled by Stone Bench Films, Five Star Creations and Invenio Origin.
A November 2023 Release
Jigarthanda Double X is all set to be released in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi. The film will lock horns with Karthi's Japan and Vikram Prabhu's Raid. The digital rights of the film have been bagged by Netflix.
