Jersey release date: When and where to watch Shahid Kapoor-Mrunal Thakur's sports drama on OTT after its theatrical run

Jersey, the Shahid Kapoor and Mrunal Thakur starrer, is finally hitting the big screens tomorrow. After being postponed multiple times, the Hindi remake of the Telugu film of the same name will be released theatrically on April 22, 2022. Even before the film has made it to the silver screens, we have got to know where the Gowtam Tinnanuri directorial will stream on OTT. Yes, Jersey is set to stream on Netflix after its theatrical run. However, the streaming date is yet to be announced.

Jersey is about a cricketer who, after retiring from the sport, decides to return to it at the age of 36 to fulfil his son's ambition and demonstrate his skill. Arjun Talwar (Shahid Kapoor) aspires to play for the Indian national team in order to grant his son's (Ronit Kamra) wish for a jersey.

The film also features veteran actor Pankaj Kapur, who is also Shahid Kapoor's father. However, in the film, the Karamchand actor plays his son's on-screen coach.

Meanwhile, Jersey, according to trade analysts, may not have a strong start at the box office due to the popularity and demand for Yash starrer KGF Chapter 2, but it is expected to rise as word-of-mouth spreads. Film trade exhibitor Akshaye Rathi told Indianexpress.com that he doesn't think Jersey will launch ballistically in terms of the box office.

However, he assumes that the filmmakers did a good job with the picture because it was directed by the same director, and so he is confident that it is a film that will develop with word of mouth and carry excellent reports. Rathi also added that Jersey may not get a terrific start, but it will improve with each passing day and produce a respectable total.

The producers of the film are Geetha Arts, Dil Raju Productions, Sithara Entertainments, and Brat Films.
