Fans went wild when Jee Le Zaraa was announced by Zoya Akhtar and Farhan Akhtar back in 2021. The film's cast includes Priyanka Chopra Jonas, Katrina Kaif, and Alia Bhatt. Several reports, however, have surfaced since the announcement regarding the movie. Some have speculated that the movie would be scrapped, while others have suggested a cast reshuffle.

During an interaction with India Today, when Zoya was asked about the status of Jee Le Zaraa, she responded that they are waiting for the actors' schedules. The filmmaker stated, "We are just waiting for the dates of the actors." Zoya seemed to dismiss rumours that production had been halted.

Farhan Akhtar will make his directorial comeback with the film Jee Le Zaraa. According to reports, the movie follows three friends—Priyanka, Katrina, and Alia—as they travel cross-country in a car. Although it was previously reported that filming would begin by the end of 2023, scheduling conflicts have effectively put that goal on hold indefinitely.

Meanwhile, Zoya returns for Season 2 of Made in Heaven as co-creator and director alongside Reema Kagti. On August 10, 2023, Prime Video will debut the series after a wait of four long years. Sobhita Dhulipala, Arjun Mathur, Jim Sarbh, and Mona Singh feature as main characters in this season.

Earlier this year, Zoya and Reema's series, Dahaad, premiered on Prime Video. The series marked the debut of Sonakshi Sinha in the web series space and featured Vijay Varma as the main antagonist. The series also starred Gulshan Devaiah and Sohum Shah in pivotal roles.

Moreover, Zoya's upcoming film, The Archies, which marks the acting debut of Agasta Nanda, Khushi Kapoor, and Suhana Khan, will premiere on Netflix later this year. The film is based on The Archies comics, and the main announcement was made at the Tudum Event held in Brazil recently. The release date has yet to be announced.
