While there are a handful of instances where doctors and engineers have taken to acting in films, Jayasri Rachakonda is among the few lawyers who was bit by the film bug late in her life. The actress, who donned the grease paint for the first time for Sita On the Road, directed by Praneeth Yaron, made a mark for herself in films like Awe, Thimmarusu, Karthikeya 2 and Mallesham, to name a few. She has forayed into Hindi cinema with the Akshay Kumar, Jacqueline Fernandez starrer Ram Setu.
Jayasri didn't have to do anything out of the box for the role - while she is an advocate in real life, she had to turn a judge on the screen for the thriller. With the film opening well across the globe, the actress is relieved and happy at the same time. Sharing her experience, she said, "I shot for a week for Ram Setu. I know my scenes were crucial in the film but was worried if they would get cut on the editing table. Noticing myself in the trailer provided a sense of relief."
"I am thrilled and all over the moon for the compliments I'm receving from movie buffs and well wishers. I consider myself fortunate to have acted along with Akshay Kumar, Nasser garu and Jacqueline in the film. This is the best Diwali gift I could've ever asked for," shared an elated Jayasri Rachakonda. She's certain to draw many eyeballs given the film released simultaneously in three languages - Hindi, Telugu and Tamil.
On the work front, Jayasri has many interesting projects lined up for the near future, including Legally Veer, Mr. Work From Home, Manasuna Vunnadhi Cheppalanunnadhi, Breaking News, and Aayush Sharma's directorial debut (she's cast as Doctor Rehana). All the projects are in different stages of production. Apart from law and films, several advertisement campaigns have kept Jayasri busy lately.
