On its fourth day, the Malayalam medical crime thriller Abraham Ozler is doing well in theatres, drawing larger crowds and additional showings over the weekend. The movie is commended for Jayaram's impressive return following several box office setbacks as well as other performances, particularly Mammootty's cameo. Midhun Manuel Thomas has directed this film.
Recently, a video confirming that there will be a sequel to the film surfaced on social media, exciting both Jayaram's fans and audience. In the video, a fan is seen asking the actor if there will be Abraham Ozler 2, to which the latter loudly responds, "Yes."
The film revolves around ACP Abraham Ozler, who is dealing with depression following an unfortunate event three years prior. He is tasked with a murder case in which the victim has been fatally wounded. Two more murders follow the same pattern, so Ozler and his group have to remain extremely vigilant to prevent another one. As he puts the clues together, Ozler doubts his own conclusions and the criminals’ perplexing motives.
The stellar supporting cast includes Anaswara Rajan, Jagadish, Dileesh Pothan, Arjun Ashokan, Senthil Krishna, Anoop Menon, and Arya Salim. The film is bankrolled by Irshad M Hassan and Midhun Manuel Thomas. The soundtracks for Abraham Ozler have been composed by Midhun Mukundan. Theni Eswar has helmed the camera work for this movie, which is distributed in theatres by Ann Mega Media.
Following the release of the first-look poster, the Malayali audience looked forward to Abraham Ozler's release with great anticipation. They had high hopes for their favourite actor, Jayaram, to make a lasting impression and play ACP Abraham Ozler, IPS, with an intense demeanour. The actor has not had a successful Malayalam film in terms of grosses or viewership in recent years.
