Jayam Ravi, who often prefers to take the road less travelled, earned praises from several quarters with the portrayal of the cult character Arunmozhi Varman from Kalki's popular novel Ponniyin Selvan when Mani Ratnam made it into a two-film franchise recently.

The first part of the magnum opus which was released last year marked his first outing in the post-pandemic era. Ponniyin Selvan 1 was his theatrical release after a three-year hiatus. He began this year with Agilan which hit screens before the much-awaited Ponniyin Selvan 2. The actor currently has almost half-a-dozen films lined up.

He has now taken to social media to express excitement on having completed 20 years in the industry. Ravi made his debut with Jayam in 2003, which was helmed by his brother Mohan Raja, with whom he collaborated for a few more projects later.

The actor tweeted, "I feel immense gratitude and a heart filled with emotions as I celebrate a significant milestone in my life. I want to express my heartfelt thanks to my incredible fans, press, media, Co stars, friends and always my family for their constant love & support (sic)."

An emotional Ravi thanked his directors and producers for trusting him with their visions and giving him the opportunity to bring their stories to life. His next release is Ahmed's Iraivan which will hit screens on August 25. He has Jana Gana Mana, too, pending with the same director.

Anthony Bhagyaraj's Siren, Rajesh's JR 30, Bhuvanesh's JR 32 and Kiruthiga's JR 33 are some of his forthcoming projects. If everything goes well, he might have four releases in 2023.
