We had reported recently that Jayam Ravi and Keerthy Suresh are joining hands for the first time for a project which will have the latter essaying the role of a cop for the second time in her career. Debutant Antony Bhagyaraj, who has worked in a few hit films as a writer, is the director of the movie which has now been titled Siren.

The makers have unveiled a motion poster of the project which hints at the film's genre. Billed as a crime drama which is high on emotions, Sujatha Vijaykumar has bankrolled the movie under the banner of Home Movie Makers.

Anupama Parameswaran, who was last seen in Thalli Pogathey in Tamil, will also be seen essaying a crucial character in Siren, which marks her third outing in Kollywood. Samuthirakani and Yogi Babu are others who play significant roles in the project.

GV Prakash has been roped in to compose music for the film which has cinematography by Selvakumar SK and editing by Ruben. Dhilip Subbarayan and Brindha are in charge of helming action choreography and dance choreography respectively. Sakthee Venkatraj M handles art direction while K Kadhir handles its production design.

The shooting of Siren kicked off in Chennai on Monday. It was only a month ago Jayam Ravi commenced shooting of JR 30 (tentative title) under the direction of M Rajesh. Priyanka Mohan is the female lead in the movie which is said to be on the lines of the filmmaker's Boss Engira Baskaran.

Ravi is expected to have two releases in September; Kalyana Krishnan's Agilan and Mani Ratnam's Ponniyin Selvan. The actor is yet to have a theatrical release in the pandemic era.
