Jayam Ravi, Nayanthara to reunite for a psychological thriller directed by Ahmed

The latest news is that Jayam Ravi and director Ahmed will collaborate once again for a psychological thriller with Nayanthara as the leading lady. The actor-director duo are currently working on Jana Gana Mana, a spy thriller. 

In an interview with Times of India, the director revealed the news about the psychological thriller. Having completed the work on the movie’s script, it will go on floors later this month.

The director said that he and the actor kept bouncing ideas for a new script as they were waiting for international skies to open up for the foreign schedule of Jana Gana Mana.

“I feel love and emotions are my strong footing, irrespective of the genre I work in. When I started writing this script, I had penned a beautiful love story as part of it and felt Nayanthara would do justice to that role.” said Ahmed, confirming that the movie will have strong elements of romance regardless of its genre.

He also added that Jayam Ravi and Nayanthara are a hit pair and that he is sure that the movie will do justice to their chemistry. The pair had previously worked in Mohan Raja’s highly successful Thani Oruvan in 2015. 

The movie, which is touted to be different to what Ravi and Nayanthara has previously done, will film in Chennai and also Puducherry. The director plans to finish the psychological thriller by May and start filming for Jana Gana Mana in Spain and Bulgaria by the first week of August. 

Ravi, who was last seen in the action drama Bhoomi, is also working on Mani Ratnam’s magnum opus, Ponniyin Selvan: I. Nayanthara on the other hand, is awaiting the release of Vignesh Shivan’s Kaathuvaakula Rendu Kaadhal.
