Actor Jayam Ravi became emotional while discussing his upcoming movie, Siren. Ahead of its release next week, Jayam expressed his gratitude and conveyed feeling extremely fortunate to be a part of this film. He demonstrated immense faith in the movie, going so far as to declare it "a big hit at the box office" even before its release.
Jayam's confidence is rooted in the talents of debut director Anthony Bhagyaraj. He added that Anthony will join the ranks of the commercially most successful directors who were introduced by him.
"I work with new directors, introduce them, and they become successful. But beyond that, I am just a vehicle; it is directors like Anthony who drive me. This success wouldn't be possible without Anthony's hard work, dedication, and talent," he stated at the press meet.

Jayam revealed that he found Siren to be a challenging endeavour in his acting career, as it marks the first time he has played the role of a middle-aged man. "This is a family film. It signifies my return to emotional dramas after being drawn towards action films in recent times. This is a film for family audiences. I enjoyed a lot while playing this film, so it's close to my heart," he said.
Siren appears to be an emotional conflict centred around a convicted felon and his daughter, who is a cop. Based on the trailer, Jayam Ravi plays a former ambulance driver who embarks on a mission of retribution after serving 14 years in prison.
Siren boasts an ensemble cast, including Anupama Parameswaran, Samuthirakani, Yogi Babu, and Tulasi, among others. It's due in cinemas on February 16.
The much-anticipated Tamil film Siren was expected to hit theatres last December. Jayam Ravi had taken to social media to announce the film's release month alongside the teaser. However, as the month came and went, the film was conspicuously absent from the box office lineup.
While other high-profile releases like Animal and Salaar garnered attention and captured the imagination of movie buffs, Siren seemed to fade into the background. The reasons behind the unexpected delay remain unclear. Speculations were also rife about the producers planning to give this film a direct release on streaming .
However, a few weeks earlier, the producers confirmed that the movie would first be released in cinemas before its OTT release.
