Jaya Jaya Jaya Jaya Hey's Azees Nedumangad has another advice for Basil Joseph’s Rajesh before its OTT release

Those who have already watched Basil Joseph and Darshana Rajendran’s comedy entertainer Jaya Jaya Jaya Jaya Hey would quickly relate to the male protagonist’s cousin Ani, essayed by Azees Nedumangad. Ani is someone who would rather advise other people than put all of that into practise in his own life and get it in order.

A day ahead of Jaya Jaya Jaya Jaya Jaya Hey’s much-anticipated OTT release, Azees shared a video through Disney+ Hotstar’s social media page as his character from the film, giving one final advice to his cousin Rajesh.

"Rajesh, it's not necessary that you tie the knot with a girl but you also need to be able to care for her. How would that be possible, especially when you are quick tempered. Your anger should be directed at women who come from outside. I should take the blame for advising you,” he says, in the video announcing the film’s OTT release date – December 22.

The movie, helmed by Vipin Das who had previously directed Saiju Kurup’s Anthakshari and Gokul Suresh’ Mudhugauv, revolves around the life of its female protagonist Jayabharathi. Since the day she was born, the men in her life were the ones taking decisions for her. She hopes things would change once she gets married to Rajesh, but it’s more of the same and in fact, it even escalates to domestic violence when her chauvinist husband feels she’s “overstepping her boundaries”. After her cries for help go unheard by those near and dear, Jayabharathi finally decides to take matters into her own hands. How will this impact her relationship with Rajesh as well as her life?

The movie had released in theatres in October and emerged as a surprise hit of this year, becoming the sixth highest grossing Malayalam movie in 2022. The movie collected close to Rs 45 crore from worldwide box office.
