Jaya Jaya Jaya Jaya Hey: Darshana Rajendran, Basil Joseph’s film to release in Telugu

Jaya Jaya Jaya Jaya Hey, the Malayalam film starring Basil Joseph, Darshana Rajendran, which hit screens on October 28, emerged a surprise success. Made at a budget around Rs 6 crore, the film, directed by Vipin Das, has grossed over Rs 40 crore at the box office. Now, the makers plan to release the film in Telugu as well with a leading banner acquiring the dubbing rights.

The story of the film revolves around Jayabharathi, an independent girl who has conditions before she says yes to marriage - she needs to study and work. While Rajesh agrees to her demands, his patriarchal mindset pushes Jayabharathi to a corner till she finally decides to come out of it. How will this affect their relationship? The film’s shoot commenced this May and was wrapped within 42 days, hitting the screens in October. Ankit Menon has scored the music while Disney+ Hotstar has acquired the streaming rights. While the producers remain tightlipped about the Telugu release deal, it’s clear that the Telugu version will have a grand release in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.

Aju Varghese, Azees Nedumangad, Sudheer Paravoor, Manju Pillai, Hareesh Pengan, Noby Marcose, Sharath Sabha And Anand Manmadhan form the supporting cast of the film. The film, co-written by Nashid Mohamed Famy, has cinematography by Bablu Aju and is edited by Johnkutty. Babu Pillai is the art director and the costumes are designed by Aswathy Jayakumar.

Telugu dubbed versions of films like KGF2, Kantara, Brahmastra, Sardar and Vikram have performed well at the ticket window recently. Will Jaya Jaya Jaya Jaya Hey make it to the coveted list?
