Jawan: Shah Rukh Khan starrer sells one million advance tickets for the opening day in India

Shah Rukh Khan’s fans, rejoice! The buzz around Jawan got bigger and better. The upcoming action thriller has sold one million advance tickets for the opening day in India.

News portal Sacnilk Entertainment confirmed the news. With this development, it has become the second Bollywood movie to earn 1 million advance tickets, after Badshah of Bollywood’s own movie "Pathaan" which sold 1.08 million tickets on the opening day. Pathaan was released theatrically in January this year and minted over Rs 1,000 crores at the box office worldwide.

With more than half a day remaining, it is very likely that Jawan can break records of Pathaan on its opening day.

About Jawan

Jawan is an eagerly anticipated action thriller, marking Atlee's directorial debut in Hindi cinema. Produced by Gauri Khan and Gaurav Verma under the banner of Red Chillies Entertainment, this film boasts a stellar cast, including Shah Rukh Khan in a dual role, alongside Nayanthara, Vijay Sethupathi, Deepika Padukone (in a special appearance), Priyamani, and Sanya Malhotra.

The movie's music, both the soundtrack and background score, is masterfully composed by Anirudh Ravichander. It showcases stunning cinematography by G. K. Vishnu and expert editing by Ruben.

Initially slated for release on June 2, 2023, "Jawan" had to be delayed due to some unfinished post-production work. It's now set to hit theaters on September 7, 2023, coinciding with the celebration of Janmashtami.

As for the plot, Jawan likely revolves around the life of a man compelled by a deep personal vendetta to correct the injustices in society, all while striving to fulfill a promise made years ago. He finds himself pitted against a formidable outlaw devoid of fear, a figure responsible for immense suffering to many.

The trailer of the movie was released last week and earned millions of views on YouTube. Some reports suggest that Sanjay Dutt is also likely to be a part of the film. Only time will tell if this development is true.

Meanwhile, SRK’s fans are enjoying dancing to the tunes of Chaleya, Not Ramaiya Vastavaiya, and Zinda Banda.
