Atlee's film with Shah Rukh Khan has been the talk of the town ever since it was announced. The film is one of the big releases of the actor, slated for next year. The makers had recently released the title announcement teaser of the film, which amped up the excitement of the fans. The film Jawan's promo clip featured the actor's rugged look and promises an edge-of-the-seat thrilling experience.
And now, there are reports that suggest that the film has already locked an OTT deal. The film, which is produced by his wife Gauri Khan and features south queen, Nayanthara as the female lead, is reportedly signed a huge deal, almost a year before its theatrical release. The film's digital streaming rights, according to BollywoodLife, has been sold to Netflix for a whopping amount of Rs 120 Crore. However, there has been no official confirmation or response about the same from SRK, Red Chillies or Atlee.
Earlier, the Bollywood Badshah, SRK had talked about the movie during a live session on his Instagram account. The actor had organised a live session to celebrate his three-decade-old career in the entertainment industry. According to India Today, SRK said, “There is still a long way to go. There is not much I can tell you about Jawan except the fact that I am having a great time as an actor. And Atlee, the director, it is a different kind of film. Everybody has seen his work. He makes outstanding mass oriented films, again a genre I have never done. So, I wanted to try my hands on it. And I think me and Atlee have good chemistry. I bring in some (to the film), he brings in some. Whatever we have done of Jawan is thrilling and exciting.”
Jawan has been scheduled for a theatrical release on June 2, 2023 in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada. SRK has several back-to-back releases in the coming year. He made a cameo appearance in R Madhavan's film, Rocketry: The Nambi Effect, which released in theatres today and was welcomed back with open hands by the fans, who were delighted to see the actor return to the screen after almost four years. The actor will next be seen in Pathaan as the lead actor, alongside Deepika Padukone and John Abraham. It is being reported that the film, directed by Siddharth Anand, is part of YRF’s spy universe, including Salman Khan-Katrina Kaif starrer Tiger 3 and sequel to Hrithik Roshan’s War. SRK also has Rajkumar Hirani’s Dunki, co-starring Taapsee Pannu in the pipeline.
