Jawan director Atlee expresses deep appreciation for Shah Rukh Khan, labeling him 'constant source of inspiration'

Filmmaker Atlee is revelling in the success of his recent blockbuster, Jawan, featuring Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan in the lead role. Following his recent win in the Best Director category, he expressed his gratitude to Shah Rukh Khan and his industry friends in a heartfelt note.

"Thank you so much! I'm incredibly grateful to you, @iamsrk sir. You are a constant source of inspiration, always motivating me to surpass my dreams, sir," Atlee shared on his social media platforms.

Jawan has boosted Atlee's popularity across the world. He recently attended the 7th Astra Film Awards in the USA, where the film was nominated in the Best International Feature category.

Atlee's biggest blockbuster yet

Jawan marked Atlee's Bollywood debut, and instead of recruiting technicians from the Hindi film industry, he brought in his frequent collaborators from Tamil cinema. Not only was it Atlee's first foray into Bollywood, but it also served as the debut in the industry for composer Anirudh Ravichander, editor Ruben, and cinematographer GK Vishnu, all of whom had worked on Atlee's previous Tamil movies.

Capturing global attention from the release of the title teaser, showcasing Shah Rukh Khan's unique character look, Jawan lived up to the expectations when it hit cinemas worldwide last year. It emerged as the biggest Bollywood hit of 2023, surpassing Rs 1000 crore in worldwide ticket sales. It marked Shah Rukh Khan's second consecutive film, following Pathaan, to breach the Rs 1000 crore mark at the global box office in the same year.

Apart from Shah Rukh Khan, the star-studded cast of "Jawan" includes Nayanthara, Vijay Sethupathi, Deepika Padukone, Priyamani, and Sanya Malhotra.
