Jawan character guide: Shah Rukh Khan in a double role, Nayanthara as a cop, Vijay Sethupathi is the protagonist!

Shah Rukh Khan is proving time and again that he is undoubtedly the ‘Badshah of Bollywood.’ After taking a four-year-long hiatus from acting, he came back with a bang earlier this year with Pathaan, which broke all box office records. His second venture this year is director Atlee’s Jawan, and it is expected to surpass Pathaan at the box office due to its thrilling storytelling and ensemble cast that features Nayanthara, Vijay Sethupathi, Sanya Malhotra, and Priyamani in lead roles, with Deepika Padukone making a cameo performance.

Shah Rukh Khan in a double role

Jawan takes us back and forth over 30 years, weaving a compelling narrative that justifies present-day actions through intricate flashbacks. The story revolves around a man determined to correct society's wrongs. It features two parallel narratives: one featuring Nayanthara as Narmada, the head of Force Once, who is in search of Vikram Rathore (played by Shah Rukh Khan), and another showcasing a romantic relationship between Narmada and Azad Rathore, also played by Shah Rukh. Vijay Sethupathi is the film’s protagonist, Kalee, who is an arms dealer who has a history with Vikram Rathore.

The leading ladies of Jawan

Jawan’s leading ladies have been the talk of the town since the release of the official teaser, in which Priyamani, Sanya Malhotra, and others effortlessly perform action sequences. Sanya plays Eram, a doctor who is wrongly accused of the deaths of 57 students, leading her to imprisonment. Kalki, played by Lehar Khan, seeks to avenge her farmer father's death. Sanjeeta Bhattacharya plays a hacker, while Priyamani plays Laksmi, a girl next door.

Jawan's cameo performances

Deepika Padukone plays Aishwarya, Vikram Rathore's wife, in a special cameo appearance in Jawan. Sunil Grover plays a police officer named Irani, while Sanjay Dutt also makes a cameo appearance as a police officer who sends Shah Rukh on a mission.

Jawan trends worldwide

Jawan premiered across the world on September 7 in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu. The Atlee-directed film has music composed by Anirudh Ravichander and is produced by Red Chilles Entertainment. Since its release, the film has been trending on Twitter with netizens flocking theatres, throwing confetti, dancing on stage, and grooving with Shah Rukh to the Zinda Banda song.
