In a conversation with We Are Yuvaa when Javed Akhtar was asked about the 'angry young man' image of a hero, which he created with Salim Khan in the film Zanjeer, he criticized the trend of depicting the male protagonist as a domineering and aggressive figure. He is already starting to turn into a caricature of an angry young man or a strong man.” Later, the interviewer asked him if he had watched the film. The lyricist said, "No, thank god."
