The audio launch of the film, bankrolled by SR Prabhu, is all set to take place in Chennai this evening

The countdown for the trailer of Karthi's 25th film has begun. The latest we hear is that the trailer is all set to drop at 10pm today. The film's production house Dream Warrior Production made the announcement on its social media handle, "The countdown to a cinematic extravaganza begins! #JapanTrailer is coming your way at 1️0 pm - stay tuned be amazed (sic)."
Audio launch to be held at Nehru Stadium
In the meantime, the audio launch for the film is all set to be held at Nehru Stadium today in a grand manner. The buzz is that Karthi's brother, actor Suriya will also be part of the launch and that fans are hoping for 'Rolex and Dilli' to take the stage together. This is said to be one of the biggest events in Karthi's career and hence, the event is said to be a gala affair.
Karthi plays a thief in Japan
Going by the trailer, the actor plays a notorious thief in the film, who gives the cops a run for their money. He is also seen living his life king size. The plot is said to be inspired by the life of Tiruvarur Murugan, who was involved in many jewellery thefts and was later nabbed by the police.
Music for the film is by GV Prakash Kumar, cinematography by Ravi Varman and editing by Philomin Raj. The star cast includes Anu Emmanuel, Jithan Ramesh, KS Ravikumar, Sunil, Vijay Milton, Vagai Chandrasekar and Bava Chelladurai.
Film to hit screens for Diwali
Japan is gearing up to hit screens in November on the occasion of Diwali and it will lock horns with Karthik Subbaraj's Jigarthanda Double X and Vikram Prabhu's Raid. Japan, produced by SR Prabhu will also be releasing in Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam with the same title
